earth2zoe drops her new single, “Count On Me”

Toronto alt-pop artist earth2zoe releases her alluring, slow-burning new single “Count On Me” via Wax Records.

To accompany the release, earth2zoe launches her earth2zoe Takes On The World TikTok campaign in support of Plan International Canada.

Throughout the summer she will be taking on increasingly more difficult challenges while documenting her experiences to share with fans. From getting her first tattoo to dining in the dark to embarking on the world-famous EdgeWalk on Toronto’s CN Tower, earth2zoe will be taking on challenges that push her personal limits. While raising funds for Plan International  Canada, earth2zoe hopes this project will inspire other young women to challenge themselves and live authentically.

Harnessing her experiences into fuel for her songwriting, earth2zoe’s lyrics track an intimate narrative of fake friends, peer pressure, and finding yourself through the growing pains of adolescence. She is a remarkable and determined young artist who is down-to-earth, fierce, and unapologetic, as she writes the soundtrack of her life to share with the world.

Listeners are intrigued by her mesmerizing vocals and honest, soulful lyrics. She writes songs that reveal painful truths about love, loss, and loyalty.

As earth2zoe challenges herself and encourages others to live their authentic lives this summer, donations for Plan International Canada can be made here.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi!! I’m earth2zoe. I’m a singer-songwriter from Toronto. 🌎🚀

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“Count On Me” was written about the feeling of letting someone down. While writing this song I reflected on a relationship that ended suddenly. I think when that happens you have a lot of thoughts racing through your head, one that I had was I felt like I messed up or I was the cause. That’s where I got the idea “You can count on me to let you down.”

I wrote this song with Troy Sampson and Ryan Stewart, I remember during the studio session the songwriting aspect was very quick and we ended up spending more time on the production than the writing itself. I think the writing was so raw and that’s why it was so easy to write

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

When writing songs, I pull a lot of inspiration from real-life experiences and things I’m dealing with (past or current) in my life. I feel like I get my lyrics out so authentically that way.

Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

Yes!! As always I love performing and often have shows as I just opened for Alyssa Reid in Toronto! I have an upcoming show for Plan International Canada on August 24th at Supermarket Toronto!

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so if you were able to work with ONE fellow Canadian artist, alive or dead, who would you choose?

I feel like I always answer the same way, but I STAN Justin Bieber and his music and I think we could make a smash hit together. 😉

What’s your goal for 2022?

My goal for 2022 is to keep releasing music and keep playing more live shows!
I have a new project I’m working on called earth2zoe takes on the world with Plan International Canada so you might see me going on some wild adventures!! keep an eye out for that 👀

As always I’ve been writing a lot recently, so possibly an EP on the way?? We’ll see!
