Ignite Concert
Featuring Dear Rouge, Danny Michele, Jessia, The New People, SHEBAD
When: July 2, 2022
Where: Grand River Raceway, Elora, ON.
The IGNITE Concert in support of youth mental health held at the Elora Grand River Raceway had significant local corporate and grassroots support.
Working with The Grove Hubs IGNITE positively impacts youth mental health by providing support and a safe place outside of school to just be. This event was meant to further connect youth and their families to available services.
Guelph band SHEBAD got the concert started with their “intertwining richly stacked harmonies with curious instrumentation. They expect to release an EP this summer.
The New People, who are a part of the Guelph “Awesome Music Project’ that connect youth and young adults to music in order to start conversations around mental wellness ended their set by sharing the stage with about a dozen young people from the audience.
BC’s JUNO award-winning artist, Jessia had a great set accompanied by a keyboard player.
Local Kitchener-Waterloo artist Danny Michel performed a solo set sharing only a small sampling of his ample repertoire.
Vancouver-based Dear Rouge closed the event with a great set performing several songs from their new wonderful new album, Spirit.
There is talk of making this a yearly event!
