Who: Big Wreck, Monster Truck & BRKN LOVE
When: December 4, 2021
Where: HISTORY, Toronto ON
Blown wide open with Canadian Rock Bands BRKN LOVE, Monster Truck, and Big Wreck, ripping the roof of new music venue HISTORY in Toronto. History could not be contained, with the high volume of energy and melodies.
Just north of Woodbine Park on Queen St. E, HISTORY is Livenation’s new music venue. A cross between The Rebel, and The Danforth Music Hall, History is a well-thought-out place to see bands and artists play. With a raised outer ‘C’ shape and sunken Floor space in front of the stage, there really is no bad spot to experience a live show. Complete with a steady flow of white pizza boxes, and trollies filled with blinking flashlights full of beverages, History is a well-oiled machine, for catching a live performance.
BRKN LOVE – Toronto natives BRKN LOVE kick-started the night, setting the bar for high energy and rooted rock rifts. Keeping things authentic, and portraying rock in a simple composition, with a nod to grunge and alternative. Sharing the rise and falls of love and loss, with wails soaring, filling us up until we can feel the story.
Monster Truck – Remembering EDGEFEST 2013, Monster Truck brought another round of heavy rock. Coloured silhouettes, a glowing white sign, hair headbanging, and running from one side of the stage to the other, Monster Truck’s sound is rock with a blues twist. ‘Ant nobody going to tell me how to live’, is their motto., and you’ll be glad you showed up to hear them testify their chronicles of life.
Big Wreck – Easily, one of the most underappreciated Canadian Rock bands. They are still veterans of a true Alternative Rock sound. You’ll get lost in Guitar solo heaven and Ian Thornely’s haunting rock yell. But I digress.
Charging guitar rifts with underling layering of lead melodies, thunderous drum percussions, and satisfying harmonies.
Pigmented stories told their way, Big Wreck plays the texture of memories.
