Calgary, AB-based doom/ occult rockers, Father Moon have unveiled their new single, “The Worm and The Raven”, which sounds like a fable told by the dark ceremonial magician, Aleister Crowley.
Beginning with a delayed and trancelike guitar and bass melody over haunting layered vocals, “The Worm and The Raven” explodes with a heavy sludge chug as lead vocalist William Grant uses his operatic voice to tell a story of decay, deception, and gothic mantras.
“”The Worm and the Raven” symbolizes the infestation and the scavenger, harbingers of rot,” shares Father Moon.
The theme of the track is heavily derived from a point in Grant’s life where everything was “decaying.” The accompanying music video features him donning the attire of a plague doctor and the layering black and white camera work amplifies the eerie quality of “The Worm and the Raven”.
