MacKenzie Porter has released the official video for her current chart-climbing single “Drinkin’ Songs.” The brand new music video is a time-traveling trip through the decades. The video was directed by Justin Clough and shot in Nashville, TN. “Drinkin’ Songs” shows Porter dating one dud after another, time after time, with each love interest throughout the iconic eras becoming “just another one of (her) drinkin’ songs.” Sealed with a martini and an intoxicating hook, “Drinkin’ Songs” will have fans asking for another.
This release comes after a long list of incredible achievements for Porter in Canada. Porter’s single “Seeing Other People” was the number one Most Played Canadian artist on Canadian Country radio (Mediabase CA 2020 Big Picture chart), and had the number one Most Played Canadian Country song (“These Days”) as per Billboard Canada’s 2020 Year-End chart. 2020 also saw her crossover hit “These Days (Remix)” hit the Top 10 at all three Canadian pop formats and hold at number one for four weeks on the Billboard All-Format Canadian Top 50. Porter is the first Canadian country artist since Shania Twain to earn a crossover Top 10 at Pop radio.
Porter wrapped 2020 with the release of Drinkin’ Songs: The Collection, a seven-song assembly of over two years’ worth of new music that wrapped up a breakout chapter in anticipation of what’s next. This year, Porter will deliver more new music produced by Joey Moi. You can watch the brand new video for “Drinkin’ Songs” right here.
