Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi, my name is Mick Moone, I am a Demon from the third tier of Hell, sent above on a second chance to spread my Rock n Roll.

I  make movies, music, and T-shirts north of Highway Seven and commonly scare the neighborhood folks.

Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.

The music itself is definitely in that roots Americana vein, perched on punk rock. My rhythms bounce and are usually pretty peppy.

Sometimes I write a song all at once, other times it can be crafted over a few sessions.

Usually a representation of what I’m feeling, the stuff I see and what’s important. There are times I’d say it’s the best version of myself translating.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?

I’ll be performing in Montreal November 13.

Imagine an individual’s entire skeleton trying to climb out of their mouth, now imagine that same individual with a guitar. You could mute me, and I’d still be entertaining.

If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?

“In The Light” I mean it’s current, but it represents fully where I’m at right now. I want people to hear it because I invested so much of myself into it.

Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?

The Sadies, Terra Lightfoot, July Talk, The High Road Pilots
