The long-running Mariposa Folk Festival is returning to Orillia this July with a stellar lineup of Canadian talent and international favourites.
Joining Serena Ryder, Lennon Stella and Blackie and the Rodeo Kings will be world-renowned gospel singer, Mavis Staples. Also included as festival headliners are Kathleen Edwards, JP Saxe, and Allison Russell.
“Mariposa may have been forced to take a two-year pandemic hiatus, but we stayed busy creating virtual concerts, alternative live performances, and working hard on our return in 2022,” said Mariposa Folk Foundation President, Pam Carter.
“We are excited to be back with this stellar lineup. There’s something for everyone, and that’s what matters, staying true to our roots for generations to come.”
From July 8th through 10th, Mariposa Folk Festival will feature more than ten stages of top folk-roots music, along with presentations of story, dance, and craft. Weekend and single-day passes are now available at mariposafolk.com. Kids 12 & under are admitted free and special pricing for youth and young adults. Onsite RV and tent camping is available.
