Brigitte Eve, a rising rock artist hailing from Barrie, Ontario, has recently released her four-song EP titled I’m Stupid. Additionally, she graced the stage for the second consecutive year at the Cookstown, Ontario festival, known as the Gussapolooza Music Festival.

I’m Stupid follows the 2022 singles, “Gonna Be O.K.,” “You,” and “Dirty Looks.”

The EP kicks off with its titular track, “I’m Stupid,” delivering an instant punk rock energy. The lyrics, “too slow to think of a solution, way up from the ground, too far to reach anybody, I don’t need your help,” encapsulate a sense of defiance and independence. Brigitte’s vocal delivery is filled with attitude and youthful energy, creating a powerful emotional connection with the listener. The chorus, with lines like “I’m stupid, I’ll never give up,” encapsulates the song’s resilient and determined attitude, challenging doubters.

The final track of the release, “Unimaginable,” offers a softer and more introspective atmosphere. It delves into the emotions of teenage romantic longing, shyness, and the inner conflict of facing one’s hesitations. It conveys a sense of tension and uncertainty, making it relatable and heartfelt for those who’ve experienced the complexities of love and shyness while serving as a rallying cry with the lyrics, “ohhhh, I don’t wanna say no, and I won’t, no I won’t.”

Overall, this four-song release offers a well-rounded musical experience, touching on themes of defiance, vulnerability, introspection, and determination, while serving as a great introduction to the 17-year-old rockstar in the making, Brigitte Eve.
