Fresh off of the stages of APTN’s Indigenous Day Live, the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, and Dauphin’s Countryfest, Brandi Vezina has unveiled her single, “Kiss Mine.”

Continuing to dig into her outlaw roots, Brandi says “Kiss Mine” doesn’t mince words and she wasn’t shy to say what she wanted, including in the creation process.

“Getting into a (virtual) room with such accomplished songwriters (Warner Nashville’s Styles Haury and Jarrod Kompier) continues to drive me to push myself and share new parts of my story as an artist,” Brandi explains. “I didn’t sit back like a little mouse and let a song be written. I knew what I wanted to say and we channeled it.”

As with many of her past singles, Brandi used this opportunity to write not only what she was feeling, but give words to those who can relate, in a big way.

“‘Kiss Mine’’s vibe is rebellious and bad ass,” Brandi says. “It’s one to sing along to when you don’t quite have the courage to tell people where to go but want to.”

Brandi will continue to perform throughout Canada this summer including a private event at Winnipeg’s Human Rights Museum as well as stops at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival and Coney Island Music Festival in Ontario. She is also preparing to head South for her first in-person writing session in Nashville later in July.
