Victoria Anthony is back with the brand new single, “Should’ve Known”
Victoria Anthony is back with her 4th single release of 2022 called “Should’ve Known,” a high-energy, angst-infused Alt/Pop single about a crash-and-burn relationship where she felt like she should have known better for trusting that former special someone.
The 17-year-old Vancouver-based artist has been unstoppable this year, releasing singles for “Stupid Kid,” “Kinda Into You,” and “Bad For Me,” as well as conceptualizing, writing, and co-directing music videos for each and racking up over 1.8 million streams and views for the tracks. She also toured the US early this year with American pop-rock band Hey Violet.
The timing of the new release comes as Anthony is on a 15-date tour of the UK and Europe with American pop singer Leah Kate. This will be her first overseas tour, where she will perform for audiences in England, Ireland, Scotland, The Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, and Germany.
“Should’ve Known” is the first single from her forthcoming sophomore album, due out for release in Spring 2023.

Hi Victoria! Welcome back to Canadian Beats. You are currently on tour in the UK as part of a 15-date UK and European tour. Very exciting! What can you tell us about the tour?
This tour has been so fun!! Getting to explore Europe and the UK while playing for the most amazing people every night is the biggest treat. People here LOVE music, and I couldn’t be more grateful to experience this love altogether.
What has been your favourite part of the tour so far?
So far, Glasgow has been my favourite show. The show’s energy was unmatched. The crowd was so loud that sometimes I couldn’t hear myself. People were vibing to everything – released and unreleased.
You just released a new single called “Should’ve Known,” along with a lyric video for the track. What can you tell us about the song?
“Should’ve Known” is a song about a breakup where I should’ve seen the red flags from the start. I wrote the song with Tavish Crowe, co-writer of “Call Me Maybe,” and Ryan Worsley, a longtime collaborator of mine.
You just turned 17 years old this summer, but it seems like you have been making and releasing music for a long time now! What do you think your greatest artistic achievement has been so far?
Playing my new music on tour has been my greatest achievement so far. Seeing people in the audience loving the songs and singing them with me is the most amazing feeling.
You have toured the US twice and now the UK and Europe. When can we expect a Canadian tour? What are your plans for 2023?
My plans for 2023 are to release my new album and perform as much as possible!! A Canadian tour is 100% in the plans! Stay tuned!
