Lost In Japan

Lost In Japan returns with their EP, Night Talks, Pt. 1

London, ON’s Lost In Japan have unveiled the first part of their sophomore LP, Night Talks is produced by Grammy Award winner Matt Snell and JUNO Award winner Dan Brodbeck. Night Talks Pt. 1 feels like you’re listening to a friend talk about their day or week. The LP came together with a play-it-by-ear planning style, and the members found themselves inspired by raw/cathartic slice-of-life conversations and experiences.

The theme we were trying to capture was the feeling of monotony.”

We all have battles going on in our heads. The highlighted single “On My Way” stemmed from a friend sharing how anxious they were, despite looking completely fine. They put on a smile even though they were having a tough time mentally.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

We are a power rock pop group from London, On. We want to annoy the listener by writing the catchiest rock song they could imagine. We’ve had 2 EPs and one record with a new one on the way (Night Talks)

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“On My Way” is a song about dealing with anxiety or any mental struggle really. We want people to feel like they are not alone when hearing this song and that even though you may look okay from the outside, you can still be having a hard time on the inside. Essentially, we want people to know it’s okay, not to be okay.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

A lot of my inspiration comes from experiences that have happened to me or that I’ve been made aware of. I really want to always be improving in songwriting, so whenever I hear a song I really like, I’ll try and create a song with similar vibes.

Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

On October 7th, we are playing our record release show in London at Rum Runners. We are playing the following night in Guelph at Silence.

What’s your goal for 2022?

To make the world aware of Lost in Japan. We got a lot of songs, and we got a lot more unreleased. We want to be playing everywhere!
