The Beaches – Grow Up Tomorrow (Single Review)

The Beaches

The Beaches share their new single, “Grow Up Tomorrow”

JUNO award-winning alt-pop girl group, The Beaches, is composed of lead vocalist/bassist Jordan Miller, guitarist Kylie Miller, keyboardist/guitarist Leandra Earl, and drummer Eliza Enman-McDaniel. The group has released their latest single, “Grow Up Tomorrow.”

The accompanying music video, directed by Ievy Stamatov, depicts a hazy, late-night, no-boys-allowed party scene complete with red solo cups, glittery eyeshadow, and a view through rose-colored glasses. The Beaches describe their vision for the music video:

“Since the song is such a fun bop we wanted to represent it in the only way we know how: by throwing a house party with all of our closest friends. I’ve recently come into my own in the queer community (Leandra), who have welcomed me with open arms, so I wanted to make sure we represented this new, big part of my life in the video.”

Review:

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard of these four extremely talented musicians, known as The Beaches. The new track, “Grow Up Tomorrow,” will be a popular add on many summer playlists and a jam that I’m sure you’ll hear at parties throughout the year.

The lyrics are completely relatable to all of us as we become a certain age. Just wanting to stay young forever, with no responsibilities and no worries. Plus, it makes those of us who are past that time yearn for that feeling and think back to those times. All in all, a great upbeat track for all to enjoy.

I’m always a sucker for fast-paced, fun songs that get my mind off of issues at hand, and this is just that. The lyrics transport you to a party atmosphere, where your biggest stress in life is losing your cellphone or finding a drive to the liquor store.
