Last night, French pop and nu-disco band L’Impératrice took over MTelus for the first of two nights! On a stage adorned with tiny mirrors, turning everything into one big disco ball, the band arrived on stage to a thunder of applause, the lights on their costumes shining on stage. New lead singer Louve got an extra special welcome to the stage, having recently stepped in to replace previous singer Flore Benguigui who stepped away last fall after 9 years.
From the opening notes of Cosmogonie all the way to finale Piano Track Killer, the evening was one big dance party! L’Impératrice completely commanded the stage, and had everyone moving on their feet, with sounds at times reminiscent of fellow Frenchmen Daft Punk, a similarity that got a wink with their cover of Aerodynamic towards the end of the set.
All in all, the night was full of good vibes from the band, that the audience gave right back to them! L’Impératrice will be playing MTelus again tonight, for tickets and more information visit Evenko’s website!
