The Cult is currently embarking on their 8424 tour, which I assume is a 40th-anniversary run. The show was opened by Patriarchy; a bizarre, gothic, new-wave ish kinda sound. It was just singer/guitarist Actually Huizenga and her drummer. Despite some sparse playing of her guitar and random drum hits, their set appeared to most be tracks, which felt far more like performance art than a concert.

The Cult took the stage shortly after, with a setlist of 16 songs spanning 9 different albums, they pulled from their entire career to keep the audience entertained over their 80-ish minute set. Sound was excellent, but they’re not an overly “active” band on stage. I’m unfamiliar with a massive chunk of their music, but enjoyed it well enough.
