First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
We are Cigar Club, a Rock and or roll band from Newmarket and Toronto Ontario.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
Our Most recent releases reflect our personal journeys navigating through adulthood. We combine nostalgia, vintage equipment, and rock and roll to deliver what we thing is our best sound yet.
How would you describe your musical style to someone who has never heard your music before?
Probably a mix of rock, blues, and psychedelia. It varies from song to song.
What does performing at a festival like Gussapolooza, known for its focus on emerging talent, mean to you and your band?
The festival originated in Dans home town of holland landing. We’ve played the fest almost every year since its inception. This is a great honour for us to watch this festival go from a backyard to the huge grounds it’s on now.
What makes Gussapolooza different from other festivals?
Gussapalooza is community driven with a focus on local talent. Most of these acts are totally indie which is very cool and different from most other fests who try to focus on groups with the most Instagram followers. This is a great opportunity for up and coming musicians and artists to showcase their art to their peers and fans.
With over 40 indie bands performing, how do you plan to stand out and make a lasting impression on the audience?
We plan to just hangout and enjoy the night by planing our songs to the best of our abilities in hopes we can connect with people in the audience.
Are there any specific bands or artists at Gussapolooza that you’re excited to see perform?
Of course! We’ve become friends with fortunate losers and they out on a killer show every time. Very excited for all the bands.
For fans who may be seeing you perform for the first time, what do you hope they remember most about your set?
We hope they can remember the way our music made them feel in that moment.
What’s next for you after Gussapolooza? Are there any upcoming projects or releases we should look out for?
We are working on releasing our next collection of songs then back to the woodshed to keep creating.
