Announces Debut Live Performances in Vancouver & MUTEK Montreal
Experimental electronic duo CHXMERAS is proud to release the stunning music video for their single “Curtis,” created by acclaimed Vancouver visual artist Laine Butler. This release from their LP Terminal City coincides with exciting announcements of their upcoming live performances, including a highly anticipated show at the 25th Anniversary of the MUTEK Festival in Montreal and a special live event in Vancouver on July 5 in collaboration with Low Indigo.
The music video for “Curtis” showcases Laine Butler’s visionary artistry, perfectly complementing CHXMERAS’s innovative sound. Known for blending angular dub, ambient, techno, and noise, CHXMERAS delivers a visual and auditory experience that pushes the boundaries of electronic music.
The track “Curtis” is pulled from CHXMERAS’ debut album, Terminal City. Released in May, the album takes listeners on a sonic journey through hypnotic soundscapes, weaving together elements of dub, ambient, techno, and noise. The album reflects on themes of urban decay, environmental degradation, and the transformation of contemporary landscapes, making it a dark, urgent, and immersive experience.
In addition to the music video release, CHXMERAS has been invited to perform at the prestigious MUTEK Festival in Montreal, celebrating its 25th anniversary. The festival, renowned for its cutting-edge electronic music lineup, will be an ideal platform for CHXMERAS to present their genre-defying music to a global audience.
CHXMERAS has also announced their debut live performance in Vancouver on July 5, in collaboration with Low Indigo. This event promises to be an incredible evening, bringing together fans of experimental electronic music for a night of immersive performances alongside live electronic acts Speaker Music and Almaazz, DJs Michael Red and Kozue, and visuals by Toi Whakairo and InnerVision.
