On Thursday night, English singer-songwriter Arlo Parks brought her ‘My Soft Machine’ tour to a sold-out Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC.

American musician Chloe George opened the night for her. George rose to fame after a cover of “Ghost Town” went viral on TikTok, however she is quite the seasoned artist, having written songs for Dua Lipa and Normani.

Shortly after 9pm, Arlo Parks ran to the stage with boundless energy under the screams of the crowd and started her set with “Bruiseless”, the first track of her latest album. After “Weightless” and “Blades”, she shared that it was her first time in Vancouver and how stoked she was that it was her first sold-out date on this tour. Parks connected with the audience easily, even jumping into the pit to sing with fans at the barricade.

One of the highlight of the night was Parks’ performance of her most popular song “Eugene” that the crowd loudly sang-along to. The setlist was a mix of her albums My Soft Machine and Collapsed In Sunbeams, released in 2021. Parks bid everyone good night with “Softly” and let everyone bask in her poetic musical world for a few more moments.

Arlo Parks will be on tour in North America until April 2nd, with stops in Toronto and Montreal end of March. Be sure to catch a show! More info on her website.
