New Electro-pop Single, Ghost Heart, Recently Released by leMeow
Canadian indie artist leMeow has enchanted music lovers once again with the release of her haunting new single, “Ghost Heart.”
“Ghost Heart” promises to be a spellbinding musical journey into the supernatural, where leMeow’s enchanting vocals and captivating melodies take centre stage. With the infusion of electro-pop and soul influences, the single is a testament to leMeow’s artistic evolution and commitment to delivering memorable music to her dedicated fanbase.
In this genre-blending gem, she delves into the eerie sensation of feeling like your very heart is possessed by a ghostly presence and keeper of its rhythm, effectively controlling the beats that dictate your emotional state and actions.
Produced by Eric Eggleston, known for his mastery in crafting emotionally resonant soundscapes, “Ghost Heart” boasts a trance-like and enigmatic atmosphere that lingers long after the music fades. The hypnotic beats of drummer Jeff Asselin add depth and rhythm to this musical narrative, enhancing the song’s power to captivate the listener.
First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Gin, sometimes known as leMeow in the music world, and I’m naturally a curious person. I’ll try almost anything once. I’ve always had this itch to experience and understand the world around me, and I’ve found that my music is the perfect canvas for that. Each song I create is my way of exploring the emotions and stories that make us human.
Outside of music, I’m a dedicated animal lover. I share my home with three rescue cats, and their well-being is a cause that’s near and dear to me.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
“Ghost Heart” is based on the concept of a heart being haunted and controlled by a spectral presence, the keeper of its rhythm. For me, this symbolizes vulnerability. The heart being haunted suggests that it’s at the mercy of external forces, effectively controlling the beats that dictate one’s emotional state and actions.
I thought this eerie concept would be the perfect opportunity to infuse some electronic influences into my music, which is a fresh direction for me. I’m excited and a bit nervous to hear what people think of it!
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
Currently, I’m in my cocoon phase, where my primary focus is on writing and recording new music. I absolutely love performing live, but I want to build a show that’s truly unique and memorable before I bring it to the stage. I once had a teacher who told me to ‘go big or go home,’ and that piece of advice has always stuck with me. Life is just too short to be boring.
If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?
If I were to choose a Canadian artist to collaborate with, it would undoubtedly be the iconic Joni Mitchell. Her poetic songwriting, unique vocal style, and masterful guitar work have been a profound source of inspiration for me. Working alongside Joni would be a dream come true, a chance to learn from a true musical genius.
What’s your goal for 2024?
For 2024, my goal is to continue growing as an artist and share my music with a larger audience. I’ve been nurturing this concept album idea in the back of my mind for a while, and I’m genuinely excited about it. My plan is to ride the momentum of “Ghost Heart” and bring this album to life. It’ll be my most ambitious project yet, and I’m hopeful it will connect with people on a deeper level.
