Thanks to all the great things that have happened to her, Shantaia is making a name for herself in the world of country music
It all started this summer … a 5x SaskMusic award and 7x Saskatchewan Country Music award nominee, Shantaia was crowned the winner of the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artists Showcase then she inked a record deal with Universal Music Canada. Now, Nashville-based artist Shantaia unveiled the charming docu-style music video for her latest single “Damaged Goods.”
The music video for “Damaged Goods” premiered on September 28 with Countrypolitan Magazine and it celebrates the small-town cliches and characters that can be found in any local dive bar. With specific stories behind each character, director Ryan Nolan brings the small-town narrative to life, with Shantaia at the centre playing bartender.
Shantaia shares,
“This music video has to be the most fun video I’ve ever shot. My manager, director and I all have a shared love of The Office, so we wanted to give this video that ‘documentary style’ real, humourous feel! I invite the camera crew into our small-town bar (Bobby’s Idle Hour in Nashville) and introduce them to the specific characters that were written into this song.”
Lifted from her debut album, Exes and Friends, which dropped earlier this year, “Damaged Goods” has racked up nearly two million views on TikTok and is now available at country radio.
