Hello, readers! I’m Stephen Roberts, and I’m the guitarist and founder of the Canadian melodic metal band, Evereal. I’m passionate about music and have been on a musical journey with Evereal since its inception in 2011. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to build a fan base through our music and active presence on social media. We’ve also achieved some significant milestones, including the release of our self-titled album in 2017 and our hit single “When You’re Gone,” which garnered over one million streams on various streaming platforms.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
Our most recent release Falling Down brought our biggest success to date with the songs “When You’re Gone” and “Falling Down”. The release did very well on streaming platforms racking over a million streams. “I Bleed” broke the top 10 on Amazon’s best sellers list.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
Ultimately, my sources of inspiration for songwriting are diverse and deeply personal. Each song has its unique way of tapping into these sources to create music that resonates with me and their audience. Scenic landscapes, weather, and the changing seasons can evoke powerful imagery and metaphors. Other musicians and genres can be a wellspring of inspiration. I often pay homage to my musical influences by incorporating elements of different styles into my own music.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
We have nothing booked at the moment. Our focus is on this release.
What’s your goal for the remainder of 2023?
We are working on a new release for the upcoming year, this will showcase our evolving sound and creativity, and see us stepping somewhat outside our comfort zone. Also in the works are creating visually captivating music videos to enhance the storytelling of the songs and engage the audience. We aim to keep building a strong connection with fans through social media, fan pages, and interactions.
