LASSO Montreal 2023
Day 2: August 18th, 2023
with Chris Stapleton, Brothers Osborne, Dean Brody, Elle King, Morgan Wade, Warren Ziebers, Lindsay Ell, Seaforth and Nate Haller
After an epic day 1, LASSO Montreal had its second and final day yesterday! The weather was not on our side with almost-constant rain, but that didn’t prevent festival-goers from putting on a poncho and adorning it with a cowboy, and the party goes on!
We started our day at the main stage with Ontario’s Nate Haller, who had such a blast he said he just might move to Montreal after this! Australian duo Seaforth then rocked the stage.
Up next, Country pop singer and Canada’s Got Talent host Lindsay Ell performed a wonderful set, including a surprise appearance from Montreal guitarist Ariel Posen! She was followed by Warren Ziebers, who amped up the crowd with an energetic set!
Nashville’s rising star Morgan Wade then took the stage, her unique voice resonating through the Parc Jean Drapeau, and the rain doubling down didn’t stop Elle King from giving a super upbeat set that had the crowd screaming along to her major hit Ex’s and Oh’s.
Canadian country powerhouse Dean Brody then performed a masterclass set under moody lighting, and Country duo Brothers Osborne brought double the great vibes!
Finally, with a break in the rain just in time, headliner Chris Stapleton arrived on stage to a thunder of applause. No pyro or big production like Kane Brown the night prior, but the same intimate setup with the big lightbulbs than during his last Bell Center show. The closing show was overall more soft and relaxed than the previous night, but still had some great energy moments like Parachute, and obviously major hit Tennessee Whiskey that had the whole crowd singing and swaying along.
This weekend was the 2nd edition of LASSO Montreal, but it sure didn’t feel like it! The festival is already a well-oiled machine with five-star talents (benefiting from Evenko’s expertise with other major festivals OSHEAGA and îLESONIQ), and the crowd showed up in masses again despite the gloomy weather. This closes for us the festival season in Montreal, and we already are counting down the days to next year!
