First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Nostalgix! I’m a producer, rapper, writer, artist. I was born in Iran and moved to Canada when I was 7, so I grew up in beautiful Vancouver, BC. I fell in love with electronic music in 2017 and started producing in 2018.
Monstercat Compound takes place on August 26, and you are part of this solid lineup. What most excites you about being a part of this event?
Being raised in Vancouver, I used to go to Monstercat Compound as a fan. I would go to see all the dope electronic acts that were in town for the show. It was always just such a fun time to see cool artists and play video games. I’m stoked to be performing this year!
Monstercat has built up a roster of world-renowned artists over the last decade, of the other artists on the Compound lineup, who are you most excited to check out?
I’m excited to see Crankdat. He’s one of the first DJs I’ve ever seen live, and his music is sick. I feel like not a lot of people are making bass house music, so I’m excited to see him perform!
For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 5 words or less.
High energy, fun, electric
What’s up next for you in 2023?
Right now I’m on a summer tour, performing at festivals all around North America. I’m working on some of the best music I’ve ever made. And planning some of the biggest shows in my career. There’s just so much to look forward to this year, I’m really grateful. I’m really putting in the work behind the scenes to make everything I put out so special and unique.
