Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is JUNYOR I tend to think of myself as a multi-genre artist as I kind of just make the music that feels right in the moment but typically that falls under the pop/alt-pop world! I LOVE all things music, recording, and especially playing live. I also have a massive record collection! Travelling and finding great local coffee shops while on the road is always a blast!

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“We Don’t Dance” is a fun mix of 80s vibes with a new modern feel. I can’t help but get John Hughes’ Breakfast Club vibes from it! Although the topic may be about the end of a relationship it is an upbeat song that makes you want to dance! Which makes you feel it’s a celebration of the end, not a sad feeling. I really wanted something with emotive vocals but that was catchy and felt like nothing I had written before. The amazing Brandon Unis and Bradley J Simons helped me bring that to life with their co-writing, production, and mixing and then Brad Smith finished it off with a beautiful master. I feel blessed to have such a. great team to collaborate with!

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

Wow, this is tough… all over the place. As my Spotify wrapped likes to tell me I listen to a LOT of Genres. I like a lot of modern pop, such as Billie Eilish, One Republic, LANY, Lennon Stella Charlie Puth, and all those types of bands but I’m a sucker for old-school rock. Foreigner, The Eagles, Prince, Metallica. There is just something about that what’s the old saying they don’t make ’em like they used to? On top of all of that, I always love some early 2000s pop-punk vibes to fit into my tracks and pay tribute to bands like Simple Plan All time low, etc. But beyond all that, I feel truly lucky to pull inspiration from my peers and get to create and learn from amazing bands and artists like Revive the Rose, Royal Oak, Laur Elle, and Talltale.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

I am playing on July 22nd with Wheatus. It should be a great time! Shoutout to OBD Fest in Niagara after that we are currently working on fall tour dates so please stay posted it is looking like a busy end of summer/fall!

What’s your goal for 2023?

My goal is to put out the EP, tour, and start working on the next body of songs! I have lots to write about and I am very eager to get back into the studio! I’d love to just connect with as many artists and music fans as possible and just enjoy what we do as artists! On top of that, I just helped launch a music release platform called Velveteen.ai helping artists not only get their music onto a site like Spotify but doing it properly and getting it heard by the right people

If you’re a band or artist seeking something beyond everyday distribution, let’s work to get your music out there the right way! By leveraging AI, cutting-edge tech, and industry relationships we do our best to cut through the noise of the 40k songs a day released and grow an audience!
