A hidden gem from the frozen heart of Toronto, ON, La Faute is an art school dropout and Sony Music Publishing artist Peggy Messing’s dark, dreamy solo project. A visual artist, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter whose haunting work explore themes of surface vs. depth, longing, betrayal, mourning, and desire.
Her LP Blue Girl Nice Day is a cohesive and engaging journey through the dark and introspective side of life, told from the female pov/psyche. The collection of songs came almost un-intentionally written by Peggy during the pandemic as part of her penchant for creation, song after song being written eventually found themselves to be this LP.
“I just wrote song after song. I had no more plans to play shows, no thought of an audience, I just tried to make music in my own voice. It kept me going while I was dealing with my illness and helped me focus. I’m like one of those birds who spend their lives building an elaborate ridiculous nest”
