Justin Mattock

Justin Mattock is back with his latest single, “Seventeen”

Vancouver, BC-based country/pop singer Justin Mattock is no stranger to the Canadian music scene, starting in the pop-rock/ pop-punk realm and later finding himself pulled to the country-pop side of things.

Justin has unveiled his latest single, “Seventeen,” which follows his previous successes, “She’s Whiskey” and “First Time.”

“Seventeen” is a nostalgic and introspective song that looks back on being 17-years-old, during the summer of 1995.

Review

Beginning with a twangy intro, “Seventeen” quickly transforms into a rockin’ upbeat country-rock jam.

Justin’s vocals are soft yet powerful throughout the track, at times completely outshining the beat while other times intertwining perfectly.

The lyrics, “Since the day we left it all behind, You lost your way back to my arms, The memories of seventeen,” takes the listener on a journey back to their own teen days with ease.

It’s easy to see why “Seventeen” already has over 15K streams on Spotify. Like the previous singles, Justin does an amazing job connecting with the listener, and his storytelling is only improving with each release.
