Conversation unveils their latest single, “As The Oceans Moved,” from their album, Honesty

Toronto, ON-based emerging post-hardcore band, Conversation have released their album, Honesty, which is a re-release of their previous two EPs, plus an unreleased track, “As The Oceans Moved.”

Produced by Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, We Were Sharks, Rarity), The Honesty EPs display soaring guitars, emotive and gripping vocal hooks flirting with a sombre and melancholy undertone; Conversation strikes a balance of thoughtful post-hardcore and melodically measured alternative rock.

Review

Coming in at 3 minutes 38 seconds, the previously unreleased track, “As The Oceans Moved,” begins with a soft, restrained beat and mellow vocals, which isn’t at all what I expected. Although, around the 40-second mark, I knew something was about to change, and I was right. The music and vocals grew in intensity, showcasing the powerful vocals, including some epic screaming throughout.

In most cases, I’m on the fence when it comes to hardcore, but with Conversation, I was ready to hear more. I was completely immersed throughout the track and captivated by the powerful beat.

I love the mixture of post-hardcore and rock, making it a track that will likely appeal to many listeners who may not necessarily be fans of the post-hardcore genre.

Conversation may still be making a name for themselves, but after listening to “As The Oceans Moved” and the rest of Honesty, I feel they are on their way to becoming a well-known name in the Canadian hardcore scene!
