The Reklaws have had one of their biggest years to date. To top it off, they are excited to share their latest album, Good Ol’ Days.
Good Ol’ Days, The Reklaws’ third album, features three unreleased tracks that they have been waiting to share with the world. “Middle Fingers” is an anthem for the girls and a solo track that Jenna has wanted to share with fans for a long time, written by close friend Emily Reid. The track “People Don’t Talk About” embodies the loneliness and weight many were feeling at the time. This track is dedicated to anyone going through a heavy time and feeling isolated in their struggle.
According to Stuart, they “want to encourage people to talk about their struggles and to use [the] platform to show people how important it is to reach out for help when they need it the most.”
The album’s title track, “Good Ol’ Days,” was written from their cottage during the pandemic and “is a nostalgic look back at The Reklaws’ roots, reminiscent of their fan-favourite “Where I’m From.”
In addition to these previously unreleased tracks, the album also packages together a collection of songs the multi-platinum duo has shared over the past couple of years during the pandemic as they close out this chapter and celebrate the major milestones accomplished through these tracks. Also included on the album is an acoustic version of their record-setting platinum track, “What The Truck.”
One half of the duo, Stuart Walker shares that they just can’t wait to share this album with their fans.
“This album has a different feel to their previous releases. Most of the tracks were written during the pandemic and “has become a collection of tracks that tell the story of what [they] were going through at the time.”
Jenna Walker explains that the duo has learned and experienced so much over the past two years.
“Our music and trying to keep showing up the best we can for our amazing fans has really given us purpose and moments to look forward to over the past couple of years, and we are forever grateful to each and every one of your for being by our side and helping us continue to live out this crazy dream of ours.”
Between writing during a pandemic, a coast-to-coast summer tour, and multiple awards, the past two years have been memorable for The Reklaws. As they close out what has been an unmatched year, the award-winning duo continues to prove why they are unstoppable when it comes to breaking down boundaries in country music.
