Ontario-born, Nashville-based Brittany Brodie shares new single, “You Lie”

Brittany Brodie’s latest single, “YOU LIE,” is a song that uses her own life lessons as the subject matter.

“You Lie is exactly what you think it is, and that girl was me” says Brodie.

It tells the story of a poor girl who keeps falling for her man’s manipulation tactics, even though she knows every single thing he says and does is untrue. And now she finds herself covering for him, until one day she stops and says no more.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi There everyone! I’m Brittany Brodie. Country Music Singer/Songwriter from Ontario, Canada, and I now reside in Nashville, TN. Come follow me online!

I love riding my motorcycle, traveling, and meeting y’all.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“You Lie” was written a few years ago. Sadly the girl in this story was me. It breaks my heart that so many people are relating to this song, but of course also grateful we all have this song as a way to let it go and move on.

I wrote this with my friend Mallory Johnson. At the time, it would have been friends having a little therapy session, and then as most of those turn out, it gets made into a song.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

My real-life experiences, listening to friends, film, out for a drive…just every day, if you see it around you, the inspiration is there in one way or another.
Unfortunately, sometimes things aren’t so nice to go through, it can be really tough, and then eventually, somehow, a song comes out of it. You always have to be careful around a Singer/Songwriter…we will put you in a song!

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

I recently performed on “Today In Nashville.” That was so exciting. You can catch me performing around Nashville and in the UK to close out the remainder of 2022. Those will be posted on my socials.

You can watch that performance here.

What’s your goal for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023?

To record new music for 2023, big things coming with that!

To enjoy the most magical time of year with my Husband and Parents.

And make sure you get my song “It’s Christmas” on your Holiday playlists.

I wish you all a beautiful Holiday Season.
