Rippinghearts unveils the debut album, The Beginning of the End

Dartmouth, NS-based artist, Rippinghearts is new to the music scene and just released his debut album, The Beginning of the End. The music is inspired by life’s ups and downs and how we deal with those challenges. I felt it was important to share the music and stories hoping it would make a difference in listeners’ lives. The music is inspired by many artists including Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, REM, and U2, among others.

Listen to The Beginning of the End below and learn more about Rippinghearts via our Five Questions With segment.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I am new to the music scene and from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I have been writing songs for a long time but have never done much with them. Never too late, I guess, and had a lot to say. It was time. I am a big fan of artists such as U2, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, and Leonard Cohen, to name just a few.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

I felt it important in my debut album to tackle the issues we all face, to share these songs and videos, hoping to connect with the audience. To tell them they are not alone in the struggle and talk about their fears and anxiety openly. The subject matter may seem dark, but it shows you can face it, overcome it, and be stronger for it. The glass is half full, not half empty.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

Believe it or not, all my music comes from my dreams. I wake up in the middle of the night and right down or record all these ideas, then develop them later. It’s the only way it works for me. I just can’t turn out songs.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

I don’t have any upcoming shows right now, as I would like to find and develop a live sound when I am ready.

What’s your goal for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023?

I am actively promoting the debut album for the rest of 2022 and reaching new people for the first time. I am also developing brand new songs and videos to release in early 2023, which I am really excited about.
