Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey everyone! My name is Graham Scott Fleming. I am a country singer/ songwriter from Elmvale, Ontario. I used to work as an actor on Broadway, and when the pandemic locked us down, I, like many others, had to pivot my plan. I have been writing music since high school and being locked down really got me diving deeper than ever before. I began writing some of my favourite music and started releasing tunes in 2021. Within the year, I released my first charting song called ‘Better Man,’ which peaked at #36 on Canadian Country radio in early 2022 and was nominated for ‘Rising Star’ at the CMAO Awards this past June. I became connected with some great people and just recently signed a record and management deal with Open Road Recordings/RGK Entertainment Group.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

‘Somedays’ is a really personal tune that I wrote a year ago. Post-breakup feelings are never easy to navigate. Somedays, you feel like you can take over the world; some days, you just can’t get out of bed. It’s the mental struggle of pulling yourself together again. The battle of missing the person you loved but understanding there was a reason it wasn’t working.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

I tend to pull inspiration from every walk of life. I could be driving, walking through town, seeing a show, or pulling from personal and/or peer relationships. I think theatre has also allowed my brain to see stories and build stories from a theatrical perspective.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

On November 25th, I will be performing in Haliburton at Pinestone Resort as part of the CMAOntario’s Songs and Stories event! I will also be direct support to Aaron Pritchett at The Ranch 2.0 in Barrie, Ontario, on December 8th!

What’s your goal for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023?

My goal is to finish this incredible year just as strong as it started! Writing, meeting people everywhere I go, and just continuing to grow and learn every day. I am so thankful for the support and team that I have, and I am grateful for every experience.
