Judgement unveils their brand new single, “Crashing Down”

Oshawa, ON-based post-hardcore band Judgement has unveiled their latest single, “Crashing Down,” which was produced by 2x Juno award winner Julis Butty and Wade McNeil of Alexisonfire.

The band shares,

“Crashing Down is a crossroad between navigating the emotions of losing a loved one, and coping with the questions that will forever remain unanswered. This is a song about loss and rebirth.”

Review

“Crashing Down” begins with a husky yet mellow vocal intro, which quickly transitions into a heavy rock track. The intro lyrics, “There’s a lump inside my throat, And it keeps on getting larger, suffocating in my blood, suffocating under pressure,” is a loaded lyric in itself, but when you add in the intense music that follows, the ferocity evoked is sublime.

As the song continues, the track transforms into a hardcore jam, taking the listener on a journey through the various talents that Judgement has offered up.

Between the intensely satisfying and complex drums and the hardcore screams that take over the track, you can experience controlled chaos at its finest. I loved the mixture of hardcore screams and smooth rock vocals that this song features. Although I’m not a huge fan of hardcore, mixing it in this way adds another layer to the track, which appeals to hardcore and rock fans alike.

Also, for the record, we covered Judgement back in 2020, and I enjoyed hearing the growth in their sound through the last few years since the release of “Terra Firma” and “Define Alive.”
