Since 2019, rolodex darko has produced a singular brand of violent, unorthodox noise. Led by the dynamic vocals of Roberta “Bob” Stan, a former choir singer, the band fuse alternative, experimental, and hardcore music with brutal energy and theatrical live performances. Lyrically, the band covers diverse subjects—death, humour, power, and religion, among others—through the lens of female empowerment.
The band has unveiled their latest single, “Blind In The Valley of Suicides,” which follows the previous release, “Slut Queen.”

Hello! I’m Bob!
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
Our newest song, BLIND IN THE VALLEY OF SUICIDES, is guaranteed to make you headbang. It’s the first song Alex, Glenn, and Josh wrote together, and it was my audition song for the band.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
I pull a lot from my own experiences… like growing up with an undiagnosed mental illness and wondering why nothing was working out for me or my time as a strict Christian wondering why I didn’t fit in.
Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?
Truthfully, I’m excited about all of them. But I am the MOST excited for our Halloween show (Oct. 31st) at Doors Pub in Hamilton, Ontario, because I am going to dress up as Chucky. I hope everyone dresses up too.
What’s your goal for 2022?
My goal is to survive until 2023.
