Since 2014, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and Slaight Music have guided emerging artists to their full potential through the Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class; and today are pleased to announce the four newest artists to be named to the 2022 edition of the mentorship program.

This year, Toronto’s Anna Sofia, Aysanabee of Sandy Lake First Nation, and Saskatoon’s Katie Tupper join London, ON’s Chad Price, grand prize winner of the 2022 CBC Music Toyota Searchlight award, for the mentorship program, which is customized to meet each of the artist’s unique needs and help them become “JUNO ready.”

In a statement, Allan Reid, CARAS/The JUNO Awards President and CEO, said,

“we feel so energized by this year’s roster of artists, who each bring their own unique sound and identity to the table. We can’t wait to see them flourish on the national scale, while learning from some of the best in the business.”

The four emerging artists were voted in by a Super Jury of music industry notables and will participate in a workshop from October 24 to 28 in Toronto, which will include vocal and stage performance coaching and sessions with industry leaders. The artists will also attend JUNO Week 2023 in Edmonton, AB, and one finalist will be selected to perform at the 2023 JUNO Opening Night Awards Presented by Ontario Creates.
