Brandi Vezina shares on her latest single, “Gasoline”
Winnipeg’s own Brandi Vezina has recently unveiled her latest single, “Gasoline.”
Featuring CCMA award-winning Producer Murray Pulver along with studio musicians Travis Switzer (Dallas Smith), Chad Melchert (Gord Bamford), and Joey Landreth, Brandi says,
“I took some risks with ‘Gasoline’. I’ve stepped more into my power and it’s more sultry than anything I’ve released.”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Taanishi, I’m Brandi Vezina. I’m grateful for this opportunity to introduce myself.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
It’s my honour to be able to channel the music I write and share my life experiences. Lately, I’ve been enjoying co-writing and have been writing with Liz Christensen and Sarah Elliot. My latest single, “Gasoline,” is one we wrote together about on-again, off-again relationships. “Walk Away” is still one of my favourite songs I’ve written. I love performing it live. It always gets me in the heart because I’m on the other side of an unhealthy relationship.
How did you keep creative during the Pandemic?
I released my debut album and four singles throughout the pandemic. I was able to co-write, release videos and take time to hone my craft. My band and I were able to take some time to go outside of the city and write music for my next album and a fun Christmas song I plan on releasing next year.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
I would say listen to “Gasoline”; it’s sultry, fierce, and badass like me.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/artists?
My favourite Canadian artists right now are Ashley Ghostkeeper and Liz Christensen.
