It’s been a while, but the Arkells were back and in top form to kick off their Blink Once/Twice tour in Halifax, NS, with fellow Canadian special guest Lights!
Lights was a refreshing treat kicking off the show. This talented multi-instrumentalist woman blew everyone away with a stage presence that was just awe-striking. Her radiant smile as she sang all the hits over her 20+ year career. A powerhouse on vocals prepped the crowd for the high-energy Arkells.
Once the Arkells hit the stage, you just could not breathe from the energy! They blasted out on the stage, and the excitement did not stop for the full hour-plus-long set! As always, the catwalk was filled with the band as they all strutted up and down, showcasing their talents. The brass band was just so stellar and engaging. It made you want more and more! Max, as usual, came out into the crowd in a conga line of musicians to sing to the crowd. Lights joined the band for multiple songs, including an ABBA cover.
Max reminisced on all the local small venues they have played before hitting it big on the Scotiabank Centre Arena stage. The crown cheered them all for each song, sang each ballad, and gave as much energy to the band that the band gave to them.
Overall – an absolutely amazing night of fun and super Canadian talent! Arkells, you are always welcome to return to Halifax! Lights, please don’t wait so long to come back again!
