Tonight, UK trip-hop band Morcheeba paid Montreal a visit, their first show since their last appearance at 2019’s Jazz Festival! Local electronic sensation Jesse Mac Cormack opened the show. We also last caught him at Jazz Festival 2019, back when his sound was more indie-rock. Nowadays, Jesse plays more electronic songs, the perfect way to warm the crowd for the main event of the night!
Shortly after 9pm, Morcheeba emerged on stage under a thunder of applause. Front and center, singer Skye Edwards put the crowd under her spell, as her silhouette twirled, perched on crazy high heels as her dress flew in the wind of her fan! With their latest album Blackest Blue released in May 2021 and their hypnotizing performance tonight, Morcheeba showed that it is still one of the best British electronic bands out there, as they get close to ringing in 30 years in the biz!
