Chloe Mayse releases her first single of 2022, “Two Weeks”
Toronto’s Chloe Mayse is making her mark on the alternative pop scene with “Two Weeks,” a relatable track about healing and the fear of being alone. After a bit of self-reflection, Chloe discovered that she moved on very quickly after a past relationship, giving herself only two weeks to find someone new.
Musically, “Two Weeks” begins as a subtle acoustic guitar number with minimal piano chords. Slowly, the song morphs into an atmospheric power pop banger when the drums and rhythmic bass kick in. Chloe’s vocal style also sounds like she’s right in the room with you.
“I only gave myself two weeks to be alone and then the pattern would start up again,” Chloe says about the track’s lyrics. “It was not healthy at all because I didn’t give myself time to heal but I also didn’t work on overcoming my fear of being alone. It’s like depending on someone else to make you feel happy.”
