Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band
Place Bell, Laval QC
Canadian Beats Passport
Laval was in the presence of music royalty tonight as Ringo Starr brought his All Starr band to Place Bell! The Beatles drummer was accompanied by Warren Ham, Edgar Winter, Steve Lukather. Hamish Stuart, Colin Hay and Gregg Bissonette in front of a backdrop full of stars.
The setlist was full of throwbacks, with of course many Beatles hits (What Goes On, Yellow Submarine, I Wanna Be Your Man, With a Little Help from My Friends) and some of Ringo’s original tracks (It Don’t Come Easy, Back Off Boogaloo, Photograph), but also a plethora of covers from other artists such as Toto’s Africa, Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode, Men At Work’s Overkill, and many more!
Full of energy (despite being 82 years old!), Ringo started out singing front and center, then later switched to the drums, obviously throwing his signature peace sign many times throughout the concert! We felt truly blessed to be at the show tonight, and to witness one of the greatest musicians of our time showing us how it’s done!
Ringo Starr and his All Starr band will be playing in Kingston tomorrow and Toronto on Wednesday, before heading back to the States and playing a couple more shows in Canada at the beginning of October. For tickets and more information, visit Ringo Starr’s website.
