Through The Fire

Don Amero has launched a podcast series, Through The Fire, that will feature conversations with an array of Canadian public figures

Multiple JUNO Award nominee and activist Don Amero launched this new podcast and video series, Through The Fire, on September 20, which will focus on the journey one takes to overcome adversity while reframing ideas around misfortune and celebrating the courage required to make it through. This series of podcasts will include engaging conversations with an array of Canadian public figures, including musicians, athletes, activists, and more.

The first three episodes are available now and include in-depth discussions with musician and mental health champion Robb Nash, award-winning Indigenous artist and filmmaker Christa Couture, and multi-JUNO and CCMA award-winning entertainer Dallas Smith, whose episode was recorded live in Calgary as part of the Canadian Country Music Association’s Country Music Week programming.
With Through The Fire, Amero hopes to encourage and inspire listeners to approach challenges with kindness and grace, both inward and towards others, and says this,

“Many people see us on the mountain top, and don’t realize the things we’ve had to overcome to get up there. We can all rise from the ashes; these are the stories I want to share with my audience. While some conversations will be heavy, when we approach difficult discussions with kindness and love, we can face the complexity of being human together.”

For those of you that know Don Amero as an engaging storyteller and singer-songwriter and have seen him perform at concerts and host events across Canada for the last decade, you will know how much this transition means to him. It’s Amero’s dedication to his community that ultimately launched the idea for the podcast. He’s always wanting to learn more by digging in and listening to what others have to say.

He states,

“With a new podcasting platform, I have the opportunity to bring my country music audience along for something new, but in a conversational format that will be accessible to anyone and everyone. After all, storytelling is at the heart of my music, too.”

Amero is thriving as a Canadian country music artist who possesses the rare ability to effortlessly and genuinely connect with his audience. 2022 marked a season of change for this Winnipeg native. He now has an extended focus on human connection and is providing a platform for others to share their stories. Amero, who is of Cree and Métis heritage, sees Through The Fire as an opportunity to show the multitude of ways humans both face and overcome hardship.

And all this is what makes Don Amero a truly wonderful human being.

Through The Fire is available now across Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, YouTube, and via Amero’s website.
