Opening Friday night’s show was Joe Sumner, who is actually Sting’s son. He warmed up the crowd with just him and a guitar, and the audience really loved it.
It has been almost ten years since the last time Sting played in St. John’s, NL. He hit the stage and opened with a Police classic, “Message In A Bottle,” and it wasn’t long until everyone was up on their feet, clapping and singing along. He followed up with some newer songs while sprinkling in some hits from The Police. He put on a great show, and I’m sure fans won’t want to wait another decade to see him again.
I’m Tara and I’m a graphic designer from Newfoundland. I am very fortunate to live in a city where there is a ton of amazing musicians. I’ve grown very fond of the local music scene in St. John’s and some of my favorite bands are ones I’ve met through going to local shows.
