Enjoy Zach’s picks for September 12 – 17, 2022
Welcome to Fall! At least that’s what it’s looking like around where I live, but I hope you’re enjoying it. It’s time to get into the new music I picked for you from our website. They are called Zach’s Picks Of The Week and can be found linked in this article. But of course, I will feature a clip from these songs and artists in the video posted below. But please, be sure to go and check out all your favourite streaming platforms for all of this new music. But if you find that my recommendations do not suit you, please visit the rest of our website for even more new music. Now let’s get into this week’s fantastic new list of music from the best in Canada!
Five
Starting us off will be the latest from Montreal-based singer-songwriter Josh Alexander. He recently unveiled his single, “Hurricane,” via Believe Music. The new single is a cinematic pop track that captivates the listener from start to finish. The song features his bold vocals, and intensity builds throughout the song. You can expect his debut EP to come out towards the end of this year. Learn more about Josh Alexander via our mini-interview here.
Four
Moving on to our next spot in this week’s list, we’ll discuss award-winning indigenous Rap duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids. They just dropped their fresh new single called “I’m Good” to all streaming sites after the success of their award-winning album “Life After.” They seem to have shared much of the heaviness they were carrying in this last album but emerge with more confidence than ever. You can catch them in Canada on their upcoming Sink or Swim tour dates. Check out the link to the article for the release of “I’m Good,” plus see the complete list of tour dates here.
Three
Now we’re moving into the top three picks of the week. We set our sights on the Calgary-based Progressive symphonic metal band Osyron. They recently released one of their new singles coming off their upcoming album, Momentous. The new single is called “Dominion Day,” and it comes with the unveiling of a new video. You can find it now on all streaming platforms, but expect their new album to be released on November 4 this year. However, the band does an excellent job at bridging the gap between traditional European metal styles and adding hints of contemporary, certainly making a unique sound for Osyron. If you like to go through the link to our article, you can check out the Five Questions With segment with Osyron and enjoy the video for “Dominion Day” right here.
Two
Making it into the top two this week is Toronto-based R&B singer-songwriter Katasha J with our album review for her new record. The new album is called A Cup Of Serenade and is available now for you to enjoy on all streaming platforms. This album tells a story, A tale that starts with heartbreak and losing trust but then ends with finding new love. These eight incredible tracks were recorded in Toronto‘s Rare Heir Recording Studio. Overall she has put together a collection of tracks that shows off her musical training and how she blends genres to create something classic yet modern that appeals to all listeners. Please check out our album review for A Cup Of Serenade here.
One
Making it into my final choice for this week’s list, we’ll be the Ontario-based band, Shoemaker Levee. They are back with the release of their latest EP, Another Round, which was released in July. It’s a six-song EP plus Enter and Exit tracks. The album features lyrics based on a variety of themes. Each song has a different feel, but overall, this EP has something for everyone. The release is on all your favourite streaming platforms, so don’t forget to add it and listen to it. You can enjoy our review for each song from Another Round in our album review here.
