Calgary, AB-based progressive symphonic metal band Osyron has recently unveiled their new single, “Dominion Day.” The single comes from the band’s upcoming album, Momentous, out November 4, 2022.

The band consists of vocalist Reed Alton, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett, and drummer Cody Anstey. Bridging the gap between traditional European metal styles and the influence of their homegrown contemporaries, Osyron has created a unique sound of their own.

Watch the video for “Dominion Day” below, and learn more about Osyron via our Five Questions With segment.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Howdy doody! We’re Osyron – the spiffiest, snazziest, dandiest, and most delicious Canadian metal band. Some of us are huge hockey nerds, some are huge music and production nerds, and others play amageing magenificent mages in World of Warcraft.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

We are stoked about the reception of our first single, “Dominion Day,” and cannot wait to share the rest of the album with the world in the coming months. It is the result of a lot of hard work and passion, so we’re excited for everyone to hear.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

Inspiration comes from anywhere and anything. Usually, it comes from overhearing Tyler playing something amazing and one of the other guys stealing the idea and bringing it forth as their own. Other than that, a big inspiration was wanting to write music that would be a lot of fun to play live. We’ve all been itching to hit the road, especially after the last couple of years, so these new songs have a great energy that we think will really translate well to the stage. That, and The Lord of the Rings soundtrack.

Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

We’re in the middle of planning the big album release show, as well as a Western Canadian tour before the year ends. For 2023, we’re hoping to bring the live show to the rest of the world.

What’s your goal for 2022?

Bobby hopes to grow in the middle of his moustache. Wish him luck.
