Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Greetings readers! We are YASSiN & Sean Terrio! We’re just a couple of dudes from a little town called Oakville. Our goal is to make bops and to have such a good time that it leads you also to have a good time! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to listen to us and to read this interview. We hope to see you soon on the road.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“Intertwine” is our end-of-summer bop that’ll get you craving that mid-July heat again as you listen. We wrote this song a long time ago now, and we’re absolutely stoked to have it out in the world now. It’s the continuation of the love story we’ve been singing about over our last few singles, but most importantly, it’s just good fun! We think that really comes across in the music video for it too. When you watch it, you can tell that we love goofing around.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

As most writers do, we pull inspiration straight from real life and the things we go through. This song, in particular, was an interesting case where I (YASSiN) wrote the hook from one experience and had that sit in a voice memo for months. Finally, another few experiences added up to verses and a full song.

Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

Our next big show is September 17th, we’re playing the Redpath Waterfront Festival in Toronto on the RBC stage! We’ve been doing shows every week this summer, so after that festival, we have some time to get back into the studio. But we’re manifesting many bigger shows come the new year, so catch us opening up for your favourite Canadian bands on tour.

What’s your goal for 2022?

Our goal this year was to play shows. Not necessarily a lot of shows, but purposeful ones that had a lot of impact. We did just that. As for 2023, our goal is to do that exact same thing on a bigger scale, as well as hit the studio in a major way and start recording a handful of new songs we’ve been sitting on for a long while!
