Calgary, AB-based five-piece party punk band, The Moröns recently unveiled their album, The Book of Morön.
Greetings and salutations. We are the Moröns (pronounced kinda like Ramones; Mor-Rones, but spelled like Morons). A 5-piece punky kinda band with subtle hints of coconut and lavender.
The title and the cover art are a spoof on the Broadway smash ‘The Book of Mormon’ entitled The Book Of Morön. It’s a 13-track helping of punky kinda stuff with undertones of sage and hibiscus.
Plagiarism mostly… with a dash of cardamom for taste.
On The September long weekend, we will be hitting Revelstoke, Vancouver, and Nelson, and then on Sept 17th, we will be playing SoGnar. A music festival in High River that features mostly punky kinda stuff with traces of caraway seeds and juniper berries.
Our end game is always just to have fun, but it is a lot more fun when people enjoy it and have fun with you. We’re very proud of the new album and are playing as many shows in Western Canada as possible to spread the word of fun to have said fun with all the fun people that enjoy punky kinda stuff with sprinklings of rosehip and Lowry’s Seasoning Salt.
