Edmonton, AB-based Americana artist Mike Plume has unveiled his latest single, “Waiting For The Fall.”
With its easy-flowing groove and poignant lyrics, “Waiting For The Fall” encapsulates those late-summer feelings we’ve all had of trying to make the good times last for as long as possible.
“I love this song,” Plume says. “I feel like it’s a high-water mark for me. In a perfect world, it would complete the trifecta of ‘end of summer’ songs along with “Boys of Summer” and “Night Moves.””
With a great summery beat, “Waiting For The Fall” begins and is quickly combined with Mike Plume’s passionate and comforting vocals.
The track, which is released via the well-known Canadian label and distributor Royalty Records, sits loosely on the edge of Americana and country, with nods in the rock direction.
Lyrics point straight to summer with verses, “Pretty girls in the sunshine, Riding around in cars, Drinking beers out by the lake, And staring at the stars,” and “I could have lived forever, Inside your ocean blues, But like the coming of September, I guess deep down we both knew.”
The chorus, with its mellow vibe, evokes the sadness that summer is coming to an end, but at the same time, an energy that pumps you up to fit everything in before Fall arrives.
All in all, this track is the perfect song for mid-August when the weather starts to change, and the night comes quicker each day. That being said, don’t forget there’s still time to fit in many more memories before the Fall arrives.
