First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Kelland! It’s actually my middle name and is a combination of my two uncles’ names, Kelly and Roland. So the name means quite a lot to me. I am a Vancouver-based multifaceted Canadian artist, songwriter, and producer.

Monstercat Compound takes place on August 20, and you’ll be taking part in the incredible event. How does it feel to be on the lineup this year? Have you been before?

I’m so excited to be on the lineup this year. I think Monstercat Compound is one of the coolest community events that take place in Vancouver and allows all ages to come to experience some amazing talent. I’ve been the past two years as one of my best friends, Tails, played both years. Every time I’ve been, the crowd has been absolutely amazing, extremely supportive, and loves to have a good time listening to great music. It has always been a goal and dream of mine to play at the show, so I’m excited to be there this year.

Monstercat has built up a roster of world-renowned artists over the last decade. Of the other artists on the Compound lineup, who are you most excited to check out?

Monstercat has really set the tone as one of the stand-out electronic music labels globally. I am definitely very excited to see Whipped Cream’s set as she is an amazing performer and person.

Explain what your performance will be like in 10 words or less.

I will probably shotgun a drink and dance.

Last but not least, what do you have planned for the remainder of 2022?

On September 2, 2022, my debut EP and project titled “THINGS CHANGED” will be released. The “THINGS CHANGED” EP release concludes a six-song rollout and tells the story of a relationship and the good and bad that come along with it through a cohesive set of songs and storytelling I put together.

I’m also currently touring Canada this summer, playing in all major Canadian cities and some of the biggest festivals on the West Coast, including Chasing Summer Music Festival, headlining Hope Music Festival, Monstercat Compound, and Badlands Music Festival.
