After an epic day 1 featured Arcade Fire’s heroic homecoming, OSHEAGA is back for another day! We started our day with Toronto’s hyper-energetic Monowhales, followed by pop-rock band Lany (who are not strangers to the festival, as they’ve played it last fall and in 2018). We then caught Swedish pop sensation Tove Lo, who had the crowd dancing to kick off the day!
Then, the main stages had a great sequence of rock bands, with Bleachers and Arkells back-to-back, with lead singers Jack Antonoff and Max Kerman commanding the stage. Over at the Green and Valley stages, we took a little hip-hop intermission with Tai Verdes and Freddie Gibbs.
Singer-songwriter Mistki put a spell on the crowd with her powerful voice and enchanting choreography, then Khruangbin slowed it down with their psychedelic instrumental tunes. Meanwhile, duo 100 Gecs rocked the Green stage with their high energy.
The main stage crowd started growing with anticipation and broke into a huge Afrobeats party as Nigerian sensation Burna Boy hit the stage! For the final show of the night, there were many options for every taste, so half our team check out JP Saxe‘s soft and emotional set, while the other half rages with Future‘s big show, complete with pyrotechnics and moshing! While Day 1 was a nice and soft welcome back into the festival, Day 2 kicked things into high gear, and it’s only going to get better from there for Day 3!
OSHEAGA 2022 is taking place on Montreal’s Ile St-Helene from July 29-31, with Dua Lipa headlining tonight. Passes are now available at www.osheaga.com/.
Hi there! My name is Marie, I am French born and raised, now living in Montreal. I work in Marketing by day, and I’m an avid concert-goer by night. I have always had a passion for photography, and realized that this mixes quite well with my love for live music (the absolute best way to experience music, if you ask me).
