Fifi has shares her debut single, “Bloodstream”

Toronto, ON-based alt-pop musician Fifi has unveiled her debut release, “Bloodstream.”

The soulful and gentle track “Bloodstream” blends various genres, such as alternative, soul, dark-pop, and pop, creating a unique landscape.

Fifi explains what the song means to her,

“‘Bloodstream’ is a song about letting people go who are not serving you. You can’t fix others or expect them to change. That’s ok. Save your energy.”

Review

Starting off with a funky beat, “Bloodstream” serves as Fifi’s debut release, and it certainly leaves the listener wondering what else she has up her sleeve.

Fifi’s vocals on the release are reminiscent of artists such as Ria Mae and Jessie Reyez, but with her own unique vocal stylings and production style.

The lyrics are completely relatable and inspired by the feeling that you give more than you receive in a relationship.

It’s the type of song that embeds itself in your head and plays on a loop for days on end, with infectious, unique beats that will leave you wanting more.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi!! I’m Fifi. I’m a music producer/songwriter/singer from Canada. 🥰

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“Bloodstream” is my debut single. It’s a dark-pop song with clicky percussion and pizzicato (plucking violin with fingers). The song came about when I had produced a really smooth bassline, and I was like – “I have to write vocals for this!!” Then the melodies just came to me in a snap.
I like letting other people have their own interpretation of my songs – it could mean so many different things to different people. But, to me, the song is about letting people go who are not serving you. You can’t fix others or expect them to change. That’s ok.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

Everything. I tend to lean more towards songs about self-discovery and culture/society.

Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

Haha, I don’t think of myself as a performer, but maybe I would love to DJ at festivals in the future.

What’s your goal for 2022?

100 % releasing an EP by the end of 2022!!! 🤭
