Montreal Jazz Festival
Day 8: July 7th, 2022
with Lindsey Stirling, Clay and Friends, Charlie Cunningham

Montreal Jazz Festival is heading into its final weekend, and it is still a blast to date! Yesterday, we started our evening at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier for the grand return of American violinist Lindsey Stirling. Accompanied by two musicians and several dancers, Lindsey put on a show for the ears and the eyes, as she danced, twirled, and jumped around the stage nonstop! She made it look effortless all while playing her violin, but we have to appreciate her level of cardio to never look out of breath nor miss a note!

Next, we headed to the TD Stage for the main free show of the night, Montreal’s skyrocketing Clay and Friends. On a colorful stage and accompanied by his band, lead singer Mike Clay was a burst of energy, jumping around the stage to every track. The band played a solid set of their signature La Musica Popular de Verdun, a feel-good mix of hip-hop, funk and soul that lifted everyone’s spirits and made for the perfect Thursday night party!

Finally, we closed the night at Club Soda with Charlie Cunningham. Sitting down on stage and accompanied by musicians, the British singer-guitarist put on a beautiful show. The mix of dreamy guitar notes and Charlie’s deep voice made for a perfect relaxing cocktail to come down from the epicness of Clay and Friends, and a perfect way to close out the night
