After an epic opening night with Tash Sultana and Alicia Moffet, we returned to the Montreal Jazz Festival for a second day of festivities! While we thought it was already busy during Les Francos, we hadn’t seen anything yet as the festival grounds were buzzing with people much earlier in the afternoon, despite the swealtering heat!
We started our evening at the Rogers Stage with the Justin Saladino Band. The Montreal-based singer and his six-piece band killed their set with a mix of blues, roots and rock that made it impossible for the crowd to stand still!
Next up, Israeli electro-pop singer-songwriter Noga Erez had a big crowd waiting for her at the Rio Tinto Stage. Alone with two musicians on stage, she occupied the stage as she danced around, captivating the audience with her engaged lyrics and dreamy voice.
Finally, we finished our night at the TD Stage for the main free show of the night, British soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae. Accompanied by three musicians, she gave a soft and sensual performance, shining on the stage not only because of her sparkly dress! Her songs about love were the perfect way to wrap Canada Day festivities on a relaxed note.
Montreal Jazz Festival is taking place downtown from June 30th to July 9th 2022. For tickets and more information, visit montrealjazzfest.com.
Hi there! My name is Marie, I am French born and raised, now living in Montreal. I work in Marketing by day, and I’m an avid concert-goer by night. I have always had a passion for photography, and realized that this mixes quite well with my love for live music (the absolute best way to experience music, if you ask me).
